The wool for this yarn comes from a premium Huacaya Alpaca fleece farm located in the Foothills of Alberta.
This collection is inspired by the skies of summer storms so often seen amidst the rolling hills of the Alberta wild. We hope that this poem written by Carmen, owner of Prairie Spirit Alpacas will inspire you to create something beautiful!
At the end of a hot summer day the clouds
Bank up against the Rockies
Purple and indigo
Like an angry bruise
A threatening cold wind blows up the hill
The alpacas race to the barn
The skies darken
Threatening to strike
And then the skies open, lightening flashing and thunder crashing
Pelting down rain, sheets pouring down
Hail bouncing off the roof of the barn
The girls and their babies safe inside
Waiting for the storm to clear
